Simon Jones

CEO and Board Member

Simon Jones is an experienced leader in healthcare and healthcare technology. He has spent over twenty years developing strategy and implementing programs as both an industry executive and consultant. Simon’s primary focus has been on improving the cost/quality of care value proposition by introducing new initiatives and technologies in population health, care and case management, and disease management. Some highlighted experiences include:

  • Chief Product Officer (CPO) of a health technology startup focused on patient engagement using collaboration, social, and rewards tools.
  • Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a health technology startup using artificial intelligence (AI) to solve interoperability problems that prevent healthcare organizations from optimizing clinical results and data driven programs.
  • Executive leader (VP) of HIT Strategy for a large payor. Key initiatives led include: development of a technology strategy to support its ACO network, conceptualizing and building new mobile technology to alert providers of critical events, and selection/implementation of technology partners to support the HIT strategy.
  • Developed, negotiated, and launched Cal INDEX (now Manifest Medex), a payor sponsored next generation HIE cofounded by two major competitors
Simon obtained his BA in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from the USC Marshal School of Business.

Fuad Rahman, PhD

Silicon Valley Technologist with vast experience in building cutting-edge big-data analytics platforms for healthcare and financial sectors. Extensive background in data analytics, natural language processing, computational linguistics and pattern recognition. Early R&D life spent working on SBIR and ATP/NIST projects – worked with all three branches of armed forces: US Air Force, Navy and Army. For the last seven years Fuad has been an entrepreneur with three successful exits. Widely published (85+ publications in peer reviewed journals and conferences)

Roni Amiel

Experienced Healthcare CIO & CISO with a unique blend of entrepreneurial and corporate background leveraging technology to demonstrate analytical, clinical, Informatics and research transformation. Roni is experienced with establishing and running strategic innovation programs and HIT organizations globally. He publishes regularly on topics related to clinical and technology transformations, chairs several industry committees, and is an advisor to Venture Capital companies around the world.

John Burke

Board Member

John is a proven operator and technology executive with 20 years experience in fast-growth environments ranging from start-ups to public technology companies. He has served in the COO, CFO and Senior Financial roles at DYE Precision, St. Bernard Software, Global Domains, Visual Sciences and WebSideStory. John was part of the management team at WebSideStory that pioneered SaaS-based web analytics. He was instrumental in raising over $44 million in private equity and $50 million in the Company’s IPO. John oversaw financial operations during the Company’s growth from $9 million to $100 million in annual revenues. The Company sold in late 2007 for over $400 million.

John started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he served in both business assurance and financial advisory services. He specialized in mergers and acquisitions, business valuation and forensic accounting. He received his CPA while at PwC. John was honored as 2009 Public Company CFO of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal for his transformational role at St. Bernard Software.

John received his BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Diego State University. John was President of the Student Accounting Society and was honored as the College of Business Graduation Speaker for his graduating class.

Cathy Eddy

Board Member

Cathy K. Eddy is president of the Health Plan Alliance, an organization started by and for provider-sponsored health plans to help its members be more competitive in their individual markets by sharing a broader base of knowledge, identifying performance improvement methods, collective purchasing and insights into provider relationships. The LLC currently has 48 member health plans located throughout the country. Cathy developed the concept with the eight founding members, wrote the business plan, raised the initial capital and has been running the Alliance since its inception as COO, executive director and now as president. Prior to the Health Plan Alliance, as a vice president of Clinical Affairs for VHA, she had responsibility for innovation screening, strategic planning and marketing. She has been an advisor to the Health Technology Center in San Francisco on business models and marketing. She has presented on provider perspective on technology adoption for BIO conferences on reimbursement. She received her MBA in health care management and insurance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1992. She has a bachelor’s degree in news/editorial journalism from Kent State University.

Teri L. Mullaney

Board Member

A healthcare industry veteran, Teri has worked with health plan, life science, and provider organizations for more than 25 years. She possesses a broad range of expertise and functional knowledge that spans health plan management including operations, care management and healthcare analytics in the areas of population health and risk adjustment.

Ms. Mullaney most recently retired from DST Health Solutions as President and CEO, where she led the company’s transformation and growth in services that supported more than 175 health plans during the healthcare industry’s most challenging times. Teri also served as DST Health Solutions’ Chief Strategy Officer where she launched new and innovative solutions to leverage healthcare reform concurrent with the emergence of new business models in government-sponsored health insurance, value-based reimbursement, risk adjustment, and population health management.

Prior to DST, she held executive level positions at numerous companies in the healthcare industry including Outcomes Health, Nolan Management Consulting, EDS, and Equifax. In addition, she served as CEO for two healthcare technology companies as part of her work with corporate boards and the investment banking community.

Ms. Mullaney has been published in peer-reviewed industry journals and has presented on a broad range of subjects at national healthcare conferences. She has previously served on the corporate board for Q Mark and Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP), as well as the advisory board for the Johns Hopkins Center for Population Health IT. She is currently an advisor to the Women Business Leaders of the US HealthCare Industry organization, and a corporate director for GrayMatterAI.

Miles Mahoney

Miles is a successful, serial entrepreneur and executive coach with over 25 years of operational, financial and go to market leadership experience with private and public software companies. Miles spent the last 4 years focused on creating companies that addressed existing problems within the Industrial, Manufacturing, Security, and Healthcare vertical markets for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) with Frost Data Capital. Miles’ expertise and experience in start-ups, lean management strategies, and successful strategic investment transactions provides value to the boards and CEOs he supports. Prior to Frost, Miles was CEO and Founder of Invest Idaho Innovation, LLC, the first ever foreign Investment fund focused on Technology and Innovation. The fund was a $50M fund focused on early stage company investment as well to create a centralized tech-transfer and commercialization function to increase availability and access to investment capital for entrepreneurs and small businesses, better supporting new-firm formation and expansion. Immediately prior to that, he held multiple leadership roles, President and SVP roles at Altair Engineering, SAS, BusinessObjects and Crystal Decisions. Miles has a BA in Finance from Montana State University, where he played 4 years of college basketball and an MBA from Grazadio School of Management, Pepperdine.

Frank D. Stonebanks

Frank Stonebanks has twenty-five years of executive operational, investment and fund formation experience in biotech, pharma, med tech, drug delivery & HCIT, including executive management, fund and deal structuring, negotiating, domestic & global marketing, L&A, finance, sales, venture capital investing & senior advisory. He is currently a Senior Advisor at NovaQuest Capital Management, a $2 billion private equity fund specializing in large ($50 mm +) structured risk sharing deals with biopharma. Mr. Stonebanks is also an EIR (Executive in Residence) at UCSD and Founder and Managing Partner of Blackcomb Advisors, a management consulting firm.

Frank has completed more than two dozen deals in the public and private sector ranging in size from $2 mm to $5B, facilitated the acceleration of new products and led domestic and global launches and commercial strategy for the last 23 years across multiple therapeutic areas, holding senior posts at Hoechst Marion Roussel, Rhone Poulenc Rorer (Aventis), Nabi Biopharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, IBM and the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research in the areas executive leadership, mergers and acquisitions, venture investing, business & corporate development, domestic and global marketing, general management and senior advisory.

Mr. Stonebanks completed his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Victoria, B.C., Canada and his M.B.A. in Pharmaceutical Marketing at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Mr. Stonebanks also holds a diploma from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration (Dartmouth) in Pharmaceutical Marketing.
